Panasonic has officially announced the launch of its latest Android-based smartphone in India. Dubbed as Panasonic P51, it is priced at 26,990 and comes with some top-end features which are seen in many smartphones these days.
In terms of specifications, the all-new Panasonic P51 features sports dual-SIM functionality and comes with 5-inch IPS display with 1280x720p resolution and 295ppi pixel density; the touchscreen boasts of Asahi DragonTrail scratchproof and damage-proof glass for added durability. This device runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean), the latest iteration of Google’s free mobile operating system. It has a 1.2GHz quad-core CPU under the hood and packs 1GB RAM and 4GB on-board storage, along with microSD card support up to 32GB.
For connectivity, it features 2G, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and microUSB. Powered by 2,500mAh battery, the Panasonic P51 is equipped with an 8MP auto focus rear camera with LED flash and 1.3MP HD camera in the front. Panasonic P51 comes with a free magnetic flip cover and supports input via stylus.
The company has partnered with Jaina Marketing for the distribution, marketing and customer care support of its P51 smartphone.
Available in Black and white colors, the smartphone will be competing with the likes Samsung Galaxy S III, HTC One X and LG Optimus 4X HD. To endorse their mobile products in the country, Panasonic has roped Student Of The Year fame Varun Dhawan as its brand-ambassador.
In the related new, Panasonic India’s managing director Manish Sharma has revealed that the company is planning to launch 9 smartphones having display sizes of 4-5 inch in coming 3 months. According to him, the company is looking forward to grab 8% share of the Indian smartphone market in the first year.
