Are you bothered of having very slow USB 2.0 device? Actually when you first purchased this devices the data transfer speed was quite reasonable but as time passes it becomes slow and it’s a painful experience to copy large amount of data in this devices. The copying speed goes quite slow sometimes in kbps and takes very large time to finish the work.

Earlier my pen drive was also very slow and it used to take long time to copy any data from my computer to it. Then fortunately I discovered a way that increased the performance of my USB 2.0 device and now I am very much satisfied with its copying/data transfer speed.

Steps to Follow for Better USB 2.0 Speed

If you are thinking that what I did then here I am giving you the entire steps to improve the performance of your USB 2.0 device. Just follow.

  1. Insert your USB 2.0 device and explore My Computer. There right click on your inserted USB 2.0 device and select “Properties” from the contextual menu.

  2. In the properties window, click on “Hardware” tab, select your device and click on “Properties” button. In the next window, click on “Properties” tab and press “Change Settings” button.

  3. In the resulting window click on “Policies” and change the setting from Quick removal (default) to “Better Performance”and finally click OK. That’s it.

It is important to remember that when you use this setting you should always use the Safely Remove Hardware before you unplug your USB 2.0 device in order to avoid data loss.
