Expanding its Android portfolio, Japanese electronics company Sony has announced the release of its latest mid-range Android smartphone Xperia T3 in the country yesterday. In the Indian market, this new smartphone will be available starting next week carrying a price tag of 27,990.
Running on Android 4.4 KitKat, Sony Xperia T3 sports 5.3-inch HD display and packs 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, 8MP rear camera with LED flash, and 1.1MP front camera. The phone is powered by a powerful 2500 mAh battery, and comes with microSD card and usual connectivity support.
In addition, the smartphone come encased in stainless steel frame and is just 7mm thick. Announcing the launch, Sony said that the phone will be available in Black, White and Purple colour options.
With the flood of aggressively priced smartphones in the Indian market over the last few weeks, it is disappointing to Sony to price Xperia T3 at 28K. With no visible advantages over its competitors, I don’t see Sony raking in big numbers for T3 in the country.
