The Chinese tech giant Huawei has quietly introduced its new Android tablet in the Indian market this week. Dubbed as Huawei MediaPad 7 Youth2, the tablet is now available for purchase in the country via several e-retailers like Flipkart, Infibeam and Amazon.in for prices of 11,499, 10,999 and 10,990 respectively.
In term of specifications, the new Huawei MediaPad 7 Youth2 packs 7-inch display with 1024×600 pixels resolution, and runs on Android 4.3 with Emotion UI on top. It features a quad-core Qualcomm processor clocked at 1.2GHz, 1GB of RAM, 4GB on-board storage and a powerful 4,100 mAh battery. It has 3MP rear camera and 0.3MP front camera for imaging.
In addition, it offers voice-calling facilty, 3G and 32GB microSD card support and usual connectivity options including Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
The tablet will be competing the Dell Venue 7 3G in the country, which offers better specifications at just 500-1,000 more. Priced at 11,450, the Dell Venue 7 3G offers 7-inch 1280x800p display, 1.6 GHz Intel Atom Z2560 dual-core processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB of internal memory and runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The tablet is also said to get Android KitKat update in coming days.
