Philips will soon announce a 6-inch display bearing smartphone in the Indian market. The company showcased the alleged device at a press event held in New Delhi yesterday, and revealed that the smartphone which will be dubbed as Philips I928, will be launched in India next month. At the same event, Philips announced the release of its latest mid-range smartphones W3500, W6610 and S308 in the country.
The company has not revealed the expect pricing of the device, but it didn’t hesitate to reveal that the upcoming Philips I928 will pack an octa-core MediaTek processor clocked at 1.7GHz, and sport 6-inch full HD display in addition to 2GB of RAM, 16GB of on-board storage and microSD card slot.
Likely to come powered by Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, the Philips I928 will also house 5MP front camera, 13MP rear camera with LED flash, 3G connectivity and dual-SIM support.
With these features, the Philips I928 will be competing with the likes of upcoming Alcatel One Touch Idol X+, recently launched Panasonic P81, Intex Aqua Octa, Karbonn Titanium Octane, Huawei G750, and Micromax Canvas Knight smartphones in the country.
