We already know that Samsung is planning to launch a rugged Galaxy S5 Active in coming months. Although the purported specifications are known already, the alleged press renders of the device are still missing. Now thanks to a leak which not only provided the images but also includes a video teaser showing Galaxy S5 Active with an all-aluminum back panel-a design. In one of the images, the Galaxy S5 Active has been been shown lying alongside Galaxy S5.
Sporting design language similar to Galaxy S4 Active, the Galaxy S5 Active shown in video is an AT&T model and carries the model number SM-G870A. The leaked video, which has been released by TK Tech News, suggests that the Galaxy S5 Active will include three physical buttons, and display is a bit larger display than Galaxy S5. The display is of course Super AMOLED and more crisp than Galaxy S5.
Moving on, the device sports a removable back cover and a heart rate sensor similar to Galaxy S5. The phone displays the name ‘Samsung Galaxy S5 Active’ at the time of booting and has hardware navigation buttons at the bottom unlike the soft keys on Galaxy S5.
Running on Android 4.4.2 KitKat, the Galaxy S5 Active is rumoured to feature Snapdragon 800 SoC, 2GB of RAM, and 16MP and 2MP camera at the rear and front similar to Galaxy S5. The exact pricing and availability of the Galaxy S5 Active are still unclear.
