Samsung has silently introduced a new dual-SIM Android flip phone, called SM-9098 in the Chinese market. The phone, which is set to be available through telecom operator China Mobile, is currently listed at Samsung China website. Samsung China has apparently revealed the specs of the device, but what we found missing in the listing is its pricing.
According to the product listing at Samsung China, the new Samsung SM-9098 boasts a 3.7-inch Super AMOLED display with just WVGA resolution, dual-SIM (TD-SCDMA + GSM) support, and comes packed with a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.3GHz, coupled with 2GB of RAM and 1900 mAh battery.
The Android version installed in the device is not clear, but we are hoping that the phone has been powered by Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. On the imaging front, it has 2MP front and 13MP rear camera with LED flash support.
In addition to 64GB microSD support, the SM-9098 comes with the usual connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS/ Glonass.
What we found surprising in the listing is the lack of word on its pricing, but considering the high-end specs included in the phone, we are expecting that it will carry a hefty price tag like previous clamshell Android phones from the company.
There is also no word on the exact launch schedule and availability in China yet, but we will not be surprised if it goes on sale in China in couple of days. The details about the availability of the phone in other markets outside China are also under the wraps at the moment.
