The Chinese phone maker Xiaomi has announced the launch of its latest high-end smartphone at a press event held in Kuala Lumpur earlier today. The phone which is dubbed as Xiaomi Mi 3, is the company’s first smartphone for the Malaysian market. The company entered in to the Malaysian market just last month.
According to the Xiaomi, the Mi 3 smartphone will be available carrying a price tag of RM 889 beginning tomorrow 12PM. The phone will be sold in the Malaysian market via its own web store as well as through telecom operators Celcom, Maxis and Digi. Xiaomi revealed that it will initially put 4,000 units of Mi 3 on sale tomorrow via Xiaomi web store in Malaysia.
Featuring 5-inch full HD display and a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.3GHz, the Xiaomi Mi 3 runs on Android 4.3 jelly Bean, and includes 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal memory on-board.
Backed by a 3050 mAh battery, it also packs 2MP front camera, 13MP rear camera with LED flash in addition to usual connectivity options. According to Xiaomi, Android 4.4 based MIUI firmware is already under-testing and will be released in the coming weeks.
