After several rumours and leaks, HTC has finally announced the launch of rumoured HTC One Mini 2 smartphone today. Featuring just 4.5-inch HD display, this miniature flagship comes encased in brushed metal body with tapered edges similar to it bigger sibling HTC One M8.
The company has not revealed the pricing for the phone yet,. According to the company, the One Mini 2 will hit the shelves first in EMEA from the end of May 2014 and in North Asia from June 2014. It will be initially available in Gunmetal Gray, Glacial Silver, and Amber Gold, just like HTC One M8.
Packing an 1GB RAM and quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, the phone runs on latest Android 4.4 KitKat with Sense 6 UI on top. The HTC One Mini 2 also packs 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, BSI sensor, f/2.2 lens, 1080p video recording and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with BSI sensor.
Powered by a 2100 mAh battery, the One Mini 2 includes 16GB of internal memory on-board which can be further expanded by up to 128GB by means of a microD card. It measures 137 x 65 x 10.6mm, and is slighter larger than it predecessor One Mini. The phone weighs 137 grams and sports BoomSound dual front stereo speakers.
As far as the connectivity features are concerned, HTC One Mini 2 offers LTE connectivity in addition to Bluetooth, 3G, Wi-Fi, NFC, GPS plus GLONASS.
