After kicking off ultra-thin high-end 3XS in Malaysia earlier this month, the Chinese smartphone maker Vivo has now announced a camera-centric premium smartphone, called Vivo Xshot in homelamd today. Set to go on sale in coming weeks in China, the phone will be available in two versions–one with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 SoC, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of built-in memory, and the other with Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of on-board storage.
According to the company, both variants will come with 5-inch full HD 1080p display, latest Android 4.4 KitKat, 2,600 mAh battery, LTE support and Maxim MAX97220 headphone amplifier.
Being a camera centric phone, the new Vivo Xshot includes a 13MP f/1.8 camera unit from Sony with OIS, two-stage shutter button, dual-tone LED flash and 4K video capture. The front-facing camera is an 8MP unit with an LED flash for capturing quality selfies in complete darkness.
According to the company, while the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset+ 2GB of RAM+16GB ROM variant will be sold for a price of $480, the other variant will be available for a hefty price of $560 in Chinese market.
