After a lot of rumours and series of leaks, Huawei has finally announced the launch of its latest flagship Ascend P7 at a press event held in Paris yesterday. According to the company, the Huawei Ascend P7 will be available for a price of €449 in Europe, Hong Kong, China, Middle-East and South-East Asia in May followed by other markets soon.
Featuring 5-inch full HD IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and 4G LTE support, the new Ascend P7 comes powered by a quad-core Huawei kirin 910T processor clocked at 1.8 GHz, and includes a massive 2GB DDR3 RAM for trouble-free multitasking.
The phone runs on latest Android 4.4 KitKat operating system with Huawei’s own Emotion 2.3 user-interface on-top, which brings a number of software tweaks like super power-saving mode, customizable lock and home screens, two enhanced UIs for effortless navigation, harassment filter, permission manager, network and notification management, and more. The camera app has also been filled with a bunch of new stuff like Voice Photo, which takes photos accompanied by 10-second audio clips.
The Huawei Ascend P7 comes with 16GB of internal memory on-board, and houses rear and front camera having capacities of 13MP and 5MP respectively. The 13MP rear camera included in the smartphone comes with the support of Sony BSI sensor, F2.0 aperture, 5P non-spherical lens and LED flash.
The company has provided a powerful 2500 mAh battery in the Huawei Ascend P7. On the connectivity front, it has 4G LTE / 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, GPS and NFC. According to the Huawei, Ascend P7 will be sold in Black, White, and Pink colour options.
With the launch of Huawei Ascend P7, the company is now looking forward to increase its market -share. According to IDC, Huawei was the third-biggest smartphone maker in Q1, 2014 with 4.9% market share.
