HTC’s mid-range smartphone Desire 816, which was showcased at MWC earlier this year and available only in China until now, is now up for sale in European markets too. The company has quietly started selling the phone in Romania where it’s available for a price of RON1,299 (about €295). The other European countries are expected to get the phone soon in coming days.
In the Romanian market, HTC has rolled out dual-SIM version of Desire 816. Although, the Romanian version of the phone supports dual-SIM cards, this might not be the case with the variants sold in other European markets.
As we know already the specifications of HTC Desire 816 include 5.5-inch 720p display, dual-SIM support, 1.6GHZ Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 8GB of internal memory, 13MP camera and 5MP front camera and microSD slot for storage expansion. It runs on latest Android 4.4 KitKat, and comes powered by a massive 2600 mAh battery. On the connectivity front, the phone has 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and DLNA.
The company is also set to start selling the Desire 816 in the Indian market starting this week. The phone has been announced last month in the country, and it has got a best by price of 23,990 in the Indian market.
