As expected, LG has officially announced the release of its latest flagship G Pro 2 in the Indian market on Friday. According to the company, the LG G Pro 2 is officially priced at 51,500, but the phone can be grabbed for as low as 49,890 from e-retailer Snapdeal which is also bundling free Aircel 3GB 2G/3G data with the device.
Being considered as the successor of Optimus G Pro smartphone, the LG G Pro 2 was first announced in Korea back in February this year. The company has included high-end specifications and enticing features in the G Pro 2 which makes it a great competitor to Samsung’s Galaxy Note III, HTC’s One Max and Sony’s Xperia Z series of smartphones.
The new LG G Pro 2 which is available in White and Titanium colour options, boasts a gigantic 5.9-inch full HD IPS display, 13MP rear camera with OIS+, 2.1 front camera and a massive 3200 mAh battery.
Running on latest Android 4.4 KitKat, the phone comes powered by a state of the art 2.26GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor paired with 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage. On the connectivity front, it has 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, NFC and integrated GPS. The phone also includes microSD card slot which can be used to expand the storage up to massive 64GB.
In addition, LG has included a host of software tweaks on the G Pro 2 including the brand new Knock Code, which according to the company makes it easier to unlock and wake-up the smartphone.
“We launched the G Pro last year in the Indian market and received an exceptionally favourable response from consumers. Following the success of the G Pro, we are launching the new G Pro 2, with enhanced features, based on the feedback of our consumers. The year 2014, is going to be an exciting year, as LG plans to bring out a string of innovative devices, which will capture the imagination of users. By year end, we intend to take on 10% share of the Indian smart phone market,” said Soon Kwon, MD, LG India.
