Videocon Telecom is looking forward to start FDD-LTE based 4G services roll out in the country from December 2014, reports the ETTelecom. The report adds that the Videocon Telecom’s 4G services would initially go live in Gujrat, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana and Chhattisgarh, UP West, UP East and Bihar.
In a short talk with ETTelecom, the telco CEO Arvind Bali has confirmed that the company is indeed launching 4G services in December, and the services will be initially available in 10 towns in above mentioned states, however he didn’t mentioned the name of the cities.
The report further notes that the telco is planning to offer host of services including live IPTV based on 4G LTE technology, and it is looking forward to ink a partnership deal with several 4G equipment vendors for the direct roll out of the services where it hasn’t launched 2G services yet.
Airtel is the only telecom provider which is offering 4G services in the country. Airtel’s this 4G service is based on TDD-LTE technology, and is currently rolling out in the cities like like Kolkata, Pune, Chandigarh etc. It also offers 4G on mobile in Bangalore.
In coming days, Reliance is also set to launch 4G services using TDD-LTE technology, and it plans to offer 4G using both FDD and TDD using an integrated ecosystem.
