This is what we have been waiting to hear from couple of years. In the official Twitter page, Xiaomi, the Chinese premium phone maker, has revealed that the company has now planned to expand it smartphone business in 10 more new countries including India, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Russia, Turkey, Brazil and Mexico.
Speaking at a press event held in China, Xiaomi’s founder and CEO Lei Jun said that the company will start selling its devices in these countries starting this year, but he didn’t deliver any word on when these countries will start getting the devices.
Four years after entering the industry, Xiaomi has enjoyed considerable success in China (the company sits ahead of Apple with 7% share in its home market), Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Singapore. The Chinese manufacturer is known for selling its keenly-priced devices directly to consumers online – a process which generates impressive sales over short periods of time.
