Lenovo India has released a new dual-SIM budget Android smartphone in the Indian market today. The smartphone which is dubbed as Lenovo A526 has been priced at 9,499, will go on sale from 5th April via leading online retailers as well as Lenovo authorized stores across the country.
Featuring dual-SIM connectivity, the all new Lenovo A526 sports 4.5-inch (854x480p) FWVGA display, and comes powered by Android 4.2 Jelly Bean accompanied by a quad-core MediaTek MT6582M processor clocked at 1.3GHz, 1GB RAM, 4GB internal memory and 2,000 mAh battery.
Among the other specifications, it has 5MP fixed focus rear camera, 0.3MP front camera, FM radio, 3G support, microSD card support for storage expansion, and usual connectivity options.
“Out of the 876 million mobile phone users in India1, about 10% of the users own a smartphone. However, today there is an influx of devices specifically targeted at this untapped segment in fast-growing markets like India. With the Lenovo A series range, we are looking at revolutionizing the concept of budget phones in India by offering consumers a superior smartphone experience at an affordable price point,” said Sudhin Mathur, Director-Smartphones, Lenovo India.
The overall specifications of the phone are decent but we are disappointed at the presence of Android 4.2 and just 854x480p display resolution. If not 720p HD, Lenovo could have put in a qHD display for this pricing.
