After the launch of Desire 816 at the MWC last month, HTC is reportedly working on several mid-range Desire-series smartphones which would be launched in coming months. In addition to the Desire 516 leaked online earlier this month, a new smartphone dubbed as Desire 616 has also appeared online this week in China. The live images of the alleged Desire-series phone have been posted by a Weibo user in China, and the device has also captured listed at TENNA (Chinese equivalent of FCC) for certification.
According to the TENNA listing, the HTC Desire 616 boasts 5-inch 720p HD display, and runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean accompanied with 1.7GHz MediaTek octa-core processor and 1GB of RAM.
Among the other features, it has 8MP rear camera with LED flash and , 3G support, microSD card slot and 2MP front facing camera. The battery capacity of the phone is not clear at the moment.
In addition, the TENNA listing also reveals that the Desire 616 would be available in a wide range of colour options including Black, Blue, White, Red, and Yellow. Pricing as well as the exact availability of the device are not known at the moment.
