Sony has announced that it has started rolling-out Android 4.4 KitKat update for its several flagship devices including Xperia Z1 Compact, Z1 and Z Ultra smartphones. The company has also revealed that it will be releasing KitKat for Xperia T2 Ultra, Xperia E1 and M2 smartphones in addition to the already revealed Xperia Z, ZL, ZR and Tablet Z devices.

  • Android 4.4 features like performance improvements and UI optimisation
  • Tweaked Status Bar and Quick Settings
  • New launch animation and live wallpaper
  • Updated Messaging, MyXperia, Smart Connect, Small apps, TrackID, TrackID TV, Sony Select, Smart Social Camera and other Sony apps
  • Improved WALKMAN, Album and Movies apps with Sony Entertainment Network cloud service integration
  • “Xperia Themes”, with downloadable UI packs from Sony Select
