HTC via Weibo has confirmed that it would introduce the rumoured mid-range Desire 8 on 24th February at a press event held in China. The partial specifications of this mid-range device leaked last week which suggested that the phone would feature 5.5-inch display, 5MP front camera and 13MP rear camera based on non-Ultrapixel technology.
Now a latest leak originated from HTC developer llabtoofer has apparently revealed almost all the innards of this upcoming device. According to it, the HTC Desire 8 packs 5.5-inch 720p HD display, 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 (MSM8926) processor, 1GB of RAM, and microSD support for expanding memory space further.
It works on latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat with Sense 6.0 UI, and includes 13MP rear camera with LED flash support and 5MP front camera. It also has dual-frontal stereo speakers with built-in amplifiers as well as HTC’s signature features such as HTC BoomSound and Beat Audio to provide enhanced music experiences.
The battery rating of the phone is still unknown at this point, but the phone will be come equipped with all connectivity supports including 4G LTE/3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS.
According to some rumours, the phone would come in single SIM as well as dual SIM variants. The single SIM CDMA/LTE variant would head to Sprint USA, TD-LTE variant would head to Chinese markets and the global 3G variant with dual SIM (WCDMA and GSM) support would be available for global markets such as Europe, Africa and Asia.
