BlackBerry has planned to launch an unnamed smartphone powered by 64-bit octa-core processor in September this year, if a report published in Pocket-lint is believed to be real.
Not much details are known related to the innards of BlackBerry’s this upcoming phone, but some rumours suggest that the phone will be powered by Snapdragon 810 (MSM8994) chipset, which includes 500 MHz Adreno GPU, 1600MHz 4GB RAM LPDDR3 PoP and OpenGL ES3.0. This chip uses the 20 nm HKMG process and uses an octa-core 64-bit architecture with each core attaining a frequency of up to 2.5 GHz with 4MB L2 cache.
In related news, BlackBerry is also rumoured to be busy in developing several mid-range smartphone including BlackBerry Ontario to tackle with the rivals Samsung, LG, HTC and other global brands. The company is looking forward to introduce new W and B-series line ups of mid-range smartphones.
