The popular Chinese phone vendor Huawei has released a new mid-range Android smartphone, called Huawei B199 in the home market on Tuesday. According to the company, the Huawei B199 is priced at 1999 yuan ($330) and will hit the shelves in the Chinese market starting 20th January this month.
The new dual-SIM Huawei B199 comes with 5.5-inch 720p HD display, and operates on Android platform (supposed to be Android 4.2). The phone packs 1.6GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of on-board storage and 3000 mAh battery out of the box.
In addition, the Huawei B199 comes equipped with 5MP front camera, 13MP primary camera with LED flash, microSD card support and usual set of connectivity options such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and 3G.
According to Huawei, the battery on-board B199 can be used to charge other smartphones like Ascend Mate or Ascend Mate 2.
There is no word on the availability outside China as of now, but we wouldn’t be surprised if the company launches it other emerging markets including India too.
