The Chinese tech giant Huawei has started its CES-2014 journey with the announcement of the rumoured Ascend Mate II 4G high-end phablet on Tuesday. The smartphone boasts 6.1-inch 720p HD display and runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean along with Emotion UI 2.0.
Being considered as the successor of existing Ascend Mate, the new Ascend Mate II 4G comes powered by 1.6GHz Snapdragon MS8928 or HiSilicon quad-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and 4050 mAh battery.
The phone includes 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, microSD card slot for memory expansion, and usual connectivity features including 4G LTE. The new Huawei Ascend Mate II is also capable of charging other smartphones, just like its predecessor.
“With Huawei Ascend Mate2 4G, we are bringing the benefits and convenience of super fast connectivity to people everywhere. Huawei Ascend Mate2 4G is power-packed for the mobile generation who want non-stop entertainment on the go, such as the ability to snap and download photo albums in seconds or use their smartphone as their mobile office,” said Colin Giles, Executive Vice President, Huawei Consumer Business Group.
The company has not declared the pricing of the device yet, but confirmed that the phone will be arriving in the United States. We hope pricing will be revealed with the availability of the smartphone.
