As expected, Sony has today showcased the mini variant of its Xperia Z1 smartphone in the form of Xperia Z1 Compact at CES, Las Vegas. The company is also scheduled to held a press event in China to launch this smartphone on 14th January, and as per the company, the phone would be available in China first beginning next month. There is no word on its global availability outside the Chinese market.
Being a variant of Japanese Xperia Z1 Mini–Xperia Z1 f that was announced last year by NTT Docomo, the new Xperia Z1 Mini comes with the similar specifications including 4.3-inch 720 HD display, Android 4.3, 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of on-board storage. It also has 20.7MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, water and dust resistant capabilities, microSD card slot, and usual connectivity options including 4G LTE.

Similar to Xperia Z1 f, it also comes preloaded with various software customizations and several colour options including Lime, Pink, Black and White.
