After releasing in Japan in association with telco NTT Docomo, Sony is now preparing for the launch of the mini version of Sony Xperia Z1 in the Chinese market in coming days. The company has sent press invites to the tech press for an event scheduled to be held on 14th January in China.
Even though the press invite doesn’t indicate any much detail on the upcoming device, but the colors in the Sony China invite shows Lime, Black, White and Pink, similar to the Sony Xperia Z1 f (SO-02F).
According to some reports, Sony is expected to include slightly different design in the Chinese version of Sony Xperia Z1 Mini, but similar specifications as that of Japanese variant which packs 4.3-inch (1280 x 720pixels) Triluminos Display with X-Reality engine, 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean).
The mini version of Sony Xperia Z1 Mini also features 20.7-megapixel rear camera with Sony G lens with a 27mm wide angle f/2.0 aperture custom 1/2.3″ Sony Exmor RS image sensor, BIONZ image processing engine, 1080p video recording and a 2-megapixel HD front-facing camera, similar to the Xperia Z1.
With upcoming CES-2014 just a week before the scheduled China launch, we might see Sony showcasing the device in the event too. At CES, Sony is also expected to launch a host of home appliances, gadgets and smartphones including Xperia E1 and Xperia E1 Dual.
