XOLO has started rolling out Android 4.2.1 update for its Q800 smartphone this week. The update is now available over-the-air and can be downloaded by going to XOLO care << Check for software update.

Originally released in March this year with Android 4.1, Q800 was the first quad-core smartphone from XOLO. Currently retailing in the country for INR Rs.10,299, the XOLO Q800 packs 4.5-inch qHD capacitive IPS display, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, PowerVR SGX544 GPU, 1GB RAM, 4GB internal memory, 2100 mAh battery, 8MP rear camera, 1.2MP front camera and microSD card slot for memory expansion up to 32GB.

Even though the company is yet to list the update on its website’s software update page, users are already getting the update, as noted by some users on Think Digit forum.

The update change-log is unclear but you can expect to see features like expanded and actionable notifications, daydream, project butter improvements, Google Now support, and support for more apps from Google Play.

Overall, Android 4.2 is quite a step-up from Android 4.1. If you have already installed the update, do let us know about the experience in comments.
