The prominent telecom operator MTS has partnered with Micromax to launch the Canvas Blaze Android smartphone on their network in India. According to the telco, the smartphone is priced at 10,999 which is almost 1,000 less than the unlocked version spotted earlier at leading e-retailer in the country.
It boasts 5-inch display and comes with dual-SIM (GSM+CDMA) support. MTS is using CDMA SIM card slot to offer its EVDO service in the country and consumers are free to use any GSM SIM card in the second slot. It runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, and is powered by 1.2GHz Qualcomm dual-core processor, 768MB of RAM, and 1850 mAh battery. It also includes 8MP rear camera, 0.3MP front camera , 32GB microSD support, and usual set of connectivity options.
According to Vikas Jain, co-founder, Micromax,”At Micromax, it is our constant endeavour to democratise technologies for the masses through our innovative and affordable offerings. Our new offering based on a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor will help GSM consumers take advantage of the superior 3G EVDO network of MTS while retaining their GSM number.”
MTS is offering several lucrative data and calling plans to the buyers of Micromax Canvas Blaze. Customers of the phone have an option to choose an exclusive plan, in which they will get 2GB of free data every month, 1,000 free minutes for MTS to MTS local calling and 120 free minutes for other local and STD calling with a validity of 6 months.
