The Indian phone vendor iBall has announced a new smartphone under its Andi series in the country on Tuesday. Dubbed as Andi Uddaan, the phone is priced at INR Rs.8,999, and it features several security and emergency features specially for women.

First talking about internals of the phone, it features 5-inch qHD resolution bearing display, and packs 1.3GHz dual-core processor, Android 4.2, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of storage, dual-SIM support, 8MP rear camera and 5MP front camera. Among other features, it has microSD card slot, 2000 mAh battery and the usual set of connectivity options.

As far as security and emergency features are concerned, the phone includes a dedicated SOS button on the back, which once pressed will alert pre-defined set of contacts, blow a loud siren, and even post a Facebook status.

The phone also lets you to add two geo-fences for receiving custom alerts. You can define the geo-fence on map location and can be programmed to get alerts by mail or sms when a person enters or exits the fence area.

In addition, the phone also packs ‘In case of Emergency’ (ICE) app, which allows users to add details like blood group, medical history, emergency contacts and more. In addition, with iBall Andi Udaan, users can let up to 10 contacts track their real-time location.

According to the company, iBall Andi Uddaan will be available in Pink and White colors options and will go on sale shortly in the country The phone will come bundled with a free flip cover, extra back cover, little pink purse and scratch guard worth INR Rs.1,199 for free.
