Samsung has officially announced the launch of the Galaxy Grand successor in the form of Galaxy Grand 2 today. The specifications and the details of this smartphone, codnamed SM–G7106 was revealed earlier this week via Chinese regulatory authority Tenaa. According to the company, the smartphone will be released in select regions in White, Black and Pink colour options, however the exact availability and pricing are not clear at the moment.
Being the successor of existing Galaxy Grand 2, the new Galaxy Gran 2 comes with upgraded quad-core processor, which is clocked at 1.2 GHZ, as well as improved RAM capacity of 1.5GB. The existing Galaxy Grand packs 1.2GHz dual-core processor unit and 1GB of RAM and is currently retailing for 18,299 in the Indian market.
In addition to these, the Galaxy Grand 2 boasts 5.25-inch 720p HD display, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, 8GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, 8MP rear shooter, 1.9MP camera and 2600 mAh battery.. The phone is powered by 1.2GHz quad-core processor of unknown make. It also comes with Android 4.3, 8MP rear camera, 1.9MP front camera and 2600 mAh battery.
According to Samsung, Galaxy Grand 2 also packs dual-SIM support. Along with these hardware features, Samsung has included software customizations like Story Album, S Translator, S Travel, Sound & Shot and Samsung Hub on the smartphone.
