The leading Chinese phone maker ZTE has announced the release of two premium smartphones model under its Nubia line-up yesterday in China. The premium phones are dubbed as Nubia Z5S and Nubia Z5S Mini, and according to the company, both the devices will start rolling out in Chinese market starting November 26 this month. The company is also planning to launch the LTE variants of both smartphones, which support FD-LTE and TD-LTE bands.
In terms of specifications, ZTE Nubia Z5S features 5-inch 1080p LCD display and includes 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 5MP front camera, 13MP rear camera, and 2300mAh battery. It is powered by Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and comes with dedicated camera button and 4K video capture support. The 16GB version will carry a price tag of CN¥1,999 (around US$330), whereas 32GB version of LTE variant will cost CN¥3,456 (approx. US$570) in China.
On the other hand, the mini version of Nubia Z5S sports 4.7-inch 720p IGZO display, and is powered by 1.7GHz Snapdragon 600 processor and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. It includes 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, microSD expansion, 2000mAh battery and comes bundled with swappable back covers. Its 16GB and 32 GB (LTE version) will cost CN¥1,499 (US$250) and CN¥2,345 (US$390) respectively.
There is no word on the launch of these devices outside the Chinese market.
