Having already given a glimpse of its phone with a flexible screen at the International CES gadget show early this year, the company now says it will bring its devices with foldable screens some time in 2015. “At Samsung’s Analyst Day, alongside talking serious financial numbers, forward looking statements and such, the company has announced that it will bring fully-foldable screens to willing customers some time in 2015,” reports Engadget.
Moving a step closer to introducing wearable devices with flexible screens, Samsung recently launched its curved display smartphone, Galaxy Round. Curved displays open up possibilities for bendable designs that could eventually transform the high-end smartphone market by allowing mobile and wearable gadgets to take new forms. After Samsung, LG also introduced its G Flex smartphone with a curved display.
“The concept of the flexible screen has been around for some time, but it finally looks as if Samsung is really going to deliver on that technology,” said Steve Bell, a technology consultant and president of KeySo Global.
