Samsung has started rolling out Android 4.3 update for Galaxy S III smartphone today. The update is currently live for Vodafone Ireland units and we expect it to reach other markets and carrier versions in the coming weeks.

This update takes Galaxy S III to Android 4.3 directly from Android 4.1.2 as the company despite testing Android 4.2 update never released it for the smartphone.

This update brings a host of changes and improvements to the smartphone. It also includes Galaxy Gear compatibility, in turn making it the third smartphone in the world to support Galaxy Gear smartwatch including Note III and Galaxy S4.

Here is a list of changes you can expect to see in Galaxy S III after Android 4.3 update:

  • TRIM Support
  • ANT+ Support
  • Updated overall UI
  • New Samsung Keyboard
  • New Lockscreen with multiple Widgets and improvements
  • New Screen modes: Adapt Display and Professional Photo
