Intel Bay Trail Tablet Processor

A report published in Digitimes indicates that the Intel is looking forward to introduce a cheaper version of existing Bay Trail processor for tablet devices in the second quarter of 2014. According to the sources familiar with the company’s plan, this entry-level tablet processor will be priced between $15-20, almost $12 cheaper than the existing Bay Trail processors.

According to Digitimes, although Intel has already offered subsidies for its Bay Trail-T processors including Atom Z3740 and Z3770 at US$32 and US$37 and another 10% off for bulk purchase, they are still less competitive in pricing compared to ARM-based quad-core processors.

The specifications and the internal architecture of this upcoming tablet processor are still unknown at this point.
