After LG Display, Samsung Display has also come forward and announced that the company has started the mass production of its flexible display for its upcoming flexible display smartphone, which is rumoured to be launched next week.
According to the company, it is producing 5.7-inch flexible OLED display having full-HD resolution. It is 0.12 thick and weighs 5.2g, so in comparison with LG’s flexible display, Samsung’s display is 3 times thicker and almost 3g light in weight. LG is producing 6-inch curved display having 0.44mm thickness and 7.2 gms weight. Samsung’s flexible display will be curved on the sides with a radius of 400mm compared to LG’s 6-inch panel with top to bottom curve of 700mm.
We have very little information regarding the Samsung’s upcoming flexible smartphone at this point, but if leaks are to be believed, the alleged smartphone will be powered by quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor along with 2GB of RAM, and will include 8MP rear shooter with dual-LED flash.
