Samsung has quietly started selling a new budget dual-SIM smartphone in the Indian market starting today. Dubbed as Samsung Galaxy Star Pro, the smartphone has been priced at INR Rs.6,989, and is available for purchase from e-retailer HomeShop18. This is the second budget Android smartphone after Galaxy Trend Duos that Samsung has launched within a week in the country.

According to the HomeShop18 Product listing, the Samsung Galaxy Star Pro features 4.0-inch capacitive touch screen display having WVGA resolution of 480×800 pixels. It runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, and packs 1GHz single-core Cortex A5 processor, 512MB RAM and 4GB internal memory on-board.

In addition, it has 2MP rear camera, microSD support up to 32GB, 1,500 mAh battery and usual connectivity features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and micro USB 2.0.

With festival season just around the corner, Samsung is expecting to sell record units of Galaxy Star Pro in coming days, so it has imported over 1 lakh units of the device in last one and a half week.

The smartphone is available in Black and White color variants. The device is expected to go official in few coming days, although it is not listed at company’s official website yet.
