Swipe Telecom in association with MTV India has once again announced a new Android quad-core powered tablet in India. Dubbed as Swipe MTV Slate, the tablet has been priced at INR Rs.14,999 official which is quite costly probably because of current downfall of the India currency against dollar.

In the tablet, under the hood is Google’s Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS accompanied by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. It is powered by a 3,200 mAh battery.

It features 7.85-inch touch display with 1024x768p resolution and comes with 8GB internal storage, 5MP rear camera, front camera, and microSD card slot. For connectivity, Swipe MTV Slate tablet has 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support.

In addition to MTV Slate, Swipe in partnered with MTV is now offering three more Android devices— MTV Volt, Volt 1000 and MTV Slash in the country.

Despite the constant flow of budget Android tablets in the country, Nexus 7 (2012) continues to be the most recommended Android tablet for the budget buyers. With the recent price-cut Nexus 7 Wi-Fi can be bought for INR Rs.11,999 and 3G version for INR Rs.19,999.
