Next month while Samsung, HTC and Nokia are set to release their flagship devices for this quarter, we are hearing that Sony is also scheduled to launch its much talked Xperia i1 aka Honami on September 18 in India. According to the mobile technological blog BGR India, who has gathered the information via their sources, the company will launch the device in a press event to be held in New Delhi, and the smartphone will be priced approximately 50,000 in the country.
The Xperia i1 (also to be known as Xperia Z1 as per a XDA developer) is reported to come with 5-inch 1080p display made by Triliminus display technology, and latest version of Android. It is said to pack top of the line 2.2 quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU coupled with 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal memory on-board. Sony is rumoured to include a powerful 3,000 mAh battery and a 20MP camera sensor with G lens and BIONZ image processing engine in this smartphone.
Although there is no official word on the India launch of the device yet, but Sony is all set to announce the product globally on September 4 in Berlin. The company has today uploaded a video teaser on Youtube channel, and has already started teasing the smartphone on social media networks.
To remind, on September 4, Samsung is well set at unveil its next generation flagship Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear smartwatch in a press held in Berlin and New York simultaneously.
