Propelling Lumia series to the next level, the Finnish phone maker Nokia has announced the launch of flagship Lumia 925 and a mid-range smartphone Lumia 625 at a press event held in New Delhi. The smartphones are priced at INR Rs.33,499 and INR Rs.19,999 respectively, and already available for purchase in the country.

Announcing the products, Nokia India Director Marketing Viral Oza said at the press conference:

We have launched 12 Lumia devices in 18 months… That’s amazing speed when you have a platform which is launched from scratch. Our focus consumers are the 18-25 year old youth and within that depending on the kind of offering we have, we appeal to different parts of them.

Originally announced in May this year, the flagship Nokia Lumia 925 sports 4.5-inch PureMotion HD+ screen with ClearBlack display technology and 1280x768p resolution. Running on latest Windows Phone 8 OS, it is powered by a dual-core 1GHz processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB internal storage and 7GB free SkyDrive storage. Connectivity options in the phone include 2G, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, microUSB 2.0, NFC and wireless charging (via removable back panel). It has an 8MP Carl Zeiss camera with dual-LED flash and a 1.3MP secondary unit. Lumia 925 is the only Nokia smartphone which comes with an aluminium frame.

On the other hand, Nokia Lumia 625 is a mid-range device which comes with 4.7-inch screen, the biggest among Lumia handsets. It has a LCD display with 800x480p resolution and 201ppi pixel density. It packs 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 512MB RAM, 8GB internal storage and microSD cad support up to 64GB. It is powered by Windows Phone 8 operating system.

Along with Lumia 625, Nokia is also offering movies worth INR Rs.4,275 and access to 10GB of free data over Wi-Fi at McDonalds, Subway and Cafe Coffee Day outlets. The company is offering 3GB free 3G data for a period of three months on Tata Docomo.

In the related news, Nokia is also planning to introduce a 6-inch display smartphone next month in order to compete with rivals Samsung and Apple in the phablet segment.
