Celkon Mobile has announced the release of a new Android-based budget smartphone in India market today. Dubbed as Celkon Campus A63, it has been priced at 4,499 and will be available for purchase starting today via e-commerces as well as retail outlets across the country.
Packing 4-inch touch screen display, Celkon Campus A63 is powered by Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS and comes with 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 3.2MP rear camera, front camera, Wi-Fi, microSD card slot, dual-SIM support and 1500 mAh battery. The company is also offering a back cover in the box with every smartphone for free.
At this price, Celkon Campus A63 is probably the first smartphone in the Indian market which is powered by Android 4.2 and 1.2GHz processor. This week we also saw Fly and Micromax launching F40+ and A34 under this price-bracket, but their offering are powered by outdated Android version, and also the processors included in them are clocked at just 1GHz frequency.
In coming days, Celkon is also expected to launch more device including A60, A20 and A10 under Campus line-up, although the pricing and exact availability schedule of the phones are unclear at the moment.
