After starting the 4G LTE service in the cities like Kolkata, Bengaluru, Pune and Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula, Airtel is now looking forward to launch the 4G LTE services in Delhi beginning next month.
The company has also planned to launch the 4G LTE services in remaining circles like Mumbai, Haryana and Kerala, but after Delhi circle. However there is no official word when the services will go live in these circles.
Airtel has partnered with Huawei and given the responsibilities to desing, supply and deploy its 4G network in the capital. It’s worth remembering that Airtel and Huawei had jointly launched the first 4G smartphone–Ascend P1 LTE in India last year. Huawei Ascend P1 LTE features 4.3-inch Super AMOLED qHD display, Android 4.0 ICS, dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, 1GB RAM, 1,800 mAh battery, and 4GB internal memory.
In 2012 Bharti Airtel had acquired 49 percent interest in Qualcomm AP’s India entities that hold BWA licenses in Delhi, Mumbai, Haryana and Kerala. The company, which recently reduced 4G data tariffs by up to 31 per cent, is trying to boost up data usage and increase adoption for its 4G service for improving revenues.
