Speaking at the Q2 earning call, Google CEO Larry Page has announced that the Google Play has crossed the 50 billion app downloads mark. Although Page did not say on when exactly this happened but considering the fact that Google shared the 48 billion app downloads number at Google I/O in May 2013, it would have happened sometime this month itself.

Page also revealed that Google has already paid more money to the Play Store developers than entire 2012, clearly showing the more and more users are buying apps from Google Play and Android is growing at a great pace.

Google CEO also shared the Android activation numbers but they are same as the ones announced during Google I/O 2013 – 900 million total device activations and 1.5 million daily device activations.
