BlackBerry has officially announced the launch of Q5 smartphone in India today. Touted as the budget version of BlackBerry Q10, it was originally announced in BlackBerry Live Event in Orlando back in May this year.

BlackBerry Q5 comes with 3.1-inch (720 x 720 pixels) capactive touch screen IPS display at 330 PPI pixel density and includes 35-key QWERTY physical keyboard similar to the Q10. Powered by BB 10 OS, it packs 1.2 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, 2GB RAM, 8GB of in-built memory and 2,180 mAh non-removable battery.

It also houses 5MP auto focus camera with LED Flash and support for 1080p video recording, 2MP front camera, and microSD card slot for memory expansion up to 32GB. For connectivity, it features 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS.

According to the company , BlackBerry Q5 will be available in Black, White and Red colour. Priced at INR Rs.24,990, it will hit the Indian market starting July, 20.
