Expanding its Canvas range of smartphones, the Indian manufacturer has officially announced the launch of awaited Canvas 4 in the country at a event held in New Delhi. The company had started teasing the flagship on television channels during the ICC Champions Trophy League last month, and at the same time it had started taking pre-order for the phone.
Coming to the specifications, Micromax Canvas 4 comes with dual-SIM support and 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display with corning gorilla glass protection. Powered by latest Android 4.2, the smartphone packs 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB internal memory (expandable up to 32GB via microSD card), and 2000 mAh battery.
It houses 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and is capable of capturing 1080p video recording, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. For connectivity, it features 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS.
Apart from these core specifications, Micromax Canvas 4 is also powered by several software customizations. It comes with new unlock methods – blow a kiss to your phone (really Micromax!) or shake the phone. Other tweaks include support for vertical panorama in camera app, video pinning to home-screen support (similar to Samsung’s Popup Play), Flip to mute, Smart Pause (Micromax’s version of Smart Stay).
According to the manufacturer, Micromax Canvas 4 will be available in the country beginning this weekend in major retail stores as well as on the company e-store for 17,999.
