In a tweet, Telecom operator Telefonica has announced that it’s going to start selling the first commercial Firefox OS phone ZTE Open starting today in Spain for €69 (around USD $90). According to the operator, the phone will be available on its Movistar network and will come bundled with pre-pay balance of €30 with every unit along with a 4GB microSD card slot. It will also be available with contracts starting just €2.38 per month.
Originally announced at MWC in February this year, ZTE Open packs 3.5-inch HVGA display and comes with 1GHz processor, 256MB of RAM, 512MB of internal storage, 3.2MP rear camera and is powered by 1200 mAh battery. It supports Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi, aGPS for connectivity.
Telefonica will also release ZTE Open in Venezuela and Colombia in the coming weeks.
