DEHRADUN: A team of experts from ASI will visit the ruins of Kedarnath Shrine Temple to measure the damage caused by the flood. The team will analyze about the necessary measures to restore and rebuild the damaged shrine.
Kedarnath Shrine got devastated after the major flood in Uttarakhand on June 16, 2013. The flood was caused by cloudburst and heavy rainfall and followed by landslides in the mountain region.
The state government of Uttarakhand has asked help from ASI. The team consisting of 5 experts from Dehradun and Delhi will be dropped at the shrine by air on Sunday.
ASI protects major historical and archaeological monuments of India. As of now, Kedarnath Shrine is not protected under ASI. The team of experts will measure the damage of the temple and submit its report to the Chief Minister.
