Looks like the announcement of next generation Nexus 7 tablet is just around the corner as the tablet has recently passed the FCC certification, which indicates that it might be launched soon in few coming days. Apart from the model number which is K009, the FCC listing also reveals some more details related to this high-end tablet.
As per the FCC listing, the next generation Nexus 7 II is also manufactured by Asus using LCD panel from JDI (Japan Display), CPU and Wi-Fi/ HSPA+/ LTE modems from Qualcomm, rear camera from Chicony and front camera from Liteon. Majority of the rest components are from Asus itself. The LTE connectivity support and rear camera are the two major features which have been included in Nexus 7 II. Both the features were absent in original Nexus 7.
Revealing more details, Ricky Park of IHS has told CNET that Nexus 7 II will come with a 7-inch 1920x1200p display, which will be supplied by JDI (confirmed via FCC certification too) and AUO. The tablet is being assembled by Quanta Computer, which also assembled the original Nexus 7. According to him, the tablet will more likely to be announced in July this year.
