The Atlantic Ocean Road is one of the most wonderful roads that you can think of. The road is known as Atlanterhavsveien in Norwegian. The 5.2 mile serpent like bumpy road goes long through the sea. The brutal waves of Norwegian Sea often clash with the road, throwing tonnes of water in the road.
The road offers a scenic view of the Atlantic Ocean with beautiful landscape. The road consists of several causeways, 7 bridges and 4 viewpoints.
During construction the road had faced 12 hurricanes. The planning of the road began in 1970 but the actual construction work started on August 1, 1983. The road was finally opened on July 7, 1989. The hurricane-affected road took 122 Million Norwegian Krone for its construction.
