California-based Lambda Lambs Software has released a latest facial recognition software for much awaited tech eyeware Google Glass. The software is quite capable and can instantly scan face of a person and fetch vital information about him including his name against a computer database.
The founder of Lambda Lambs Software, Stephen Balaban clarified that the company does not plan to provide a global facial recognition database keeping in mind the privacy infringement of people. Balaban later said that the company welcomes other software developers to build customized apps based on the technology.
Balaban added that the company will be launching its own facial recognition app when Google Glass becomes commercially available for consumers.
Steve Lee (Director, Product Management, Google Glass) said that Google has no plans to provide facial recognition features on Google Glass until strong measurements are in place to avoid privacy infringements.
