The previous expected forecast by the firm for this year was 1.3% decline in PC shipments, but the current data sheet tells a far worse story. By 2015, tablets will overcome laptops and PCs.

Tablets running Google’s open source free mobile operating system Android, are getting extremely popular among teens. This year the worldwide sales of tablets is expected to rise by 58.7%. On the other hand, with the cut-throat competition among various brands, the average price of tablets is expected to fall by 10.8%.

The first tablet computer was launched by Apple branded as iPad in April 2010. Since then almost all the gadget-makers have introduced tablets.
