Hon Hai Precision Industry Co Ltd, better known as Foxconn Technologies, is the latest company which has partnered with U.S. based Mozilla Corporation to launch Firefox OS powered devices this year. According to Reuters, the duo is reportedly going to organize a press event on coming June 3 where they are expected to announce their first Firefox OS powered device, which is more likely to be a tablet.
Elaborating the news, The Wall Street Journal quotes that Hon Hoi is looking for new clients since Hon Hai’s biggest market client Apple Inc. to whom it delivers assembling gadgets and draws an estimated 60 percent of its revenue, is losing market shares in the smartphone and tablet markets. The company is also planning to launch its own branded device in coming years.
Since the launch of Firefox OS, Mozilla has joined his hands with several global mobile brands such as Sony, Alkatel, LG, ZTE, Huawei etc. to launch the firefox OS powered mid-range as well as high-end smartphones. The Foxconn will be the 19th company in the line.
