Experts have warned the global community that by 2050 the world is going to face extreme water shortage that will adversely affect more than 50% of then world-population, if serious efforts on international basis are not met to conserve water. The shortage will cause people to mass leave the water-deficit places.
The meeting in Bonn organised by the Global Water System Project explored that water is becoming one of the most crucial resource that could limit human development in the 21st century.
Professor Janos Bogardi of Bonn University (Senior Adviser to the Water System Project) said :
Five hundred of the world’s top water scientists are afraid of the increasing misuse and mismanagement of water bodies. Human activities which are promoting soil erosion and pollution are in most of the cases responsible for water misuse.
